Ever thought your newborn may not be safe with your pet dog around? Has the thought of getting rid of your dog while you get your new born baby home hounded you? Really, how safe is your baby with your dog around? While we have heard crazy stories about pet dogs turning wild against babies and other house inmates, these are only exceptions. If the dog has a history of attacking people and has exhibited barbaric behavior, it is never safe to leave a baby anywhere close to the dog. On the other hand, if the dog has been raised by you and is familiar with your family scents, it would be safe to let your dog in the vicinity of your child. In such cases, not only is it safe to let the baby close to the dog, the dog also keeps a watch on the baby and protects him/her. Just like what this Labrador did when he caught the baby taking a nap without a blanket. The lab immediately knew what he had to do. In the absence of the baby’s mum, she took on the role of mommy and tucked the baby neatly into the blanket. When the baby was still slightly uncomfortable, he gave him an assuring nudge and put him to sleep. Obviously he has been watching the mum all the while and knew the grill.
This little pooch is such an adorable nanny when mumma needs some help. Further, the video ends with the dog doing a lazy and long stretch which is almost symbolic of a job done well and now she doesn’t have to worry about the baby. This loving lab will make an amazing mommy someday. She has got the maternal instinct, sixth sense and the will do all of this with so much alacrity, just like any mother. It is so true when you adopt dogs and treat them like a part of your family, they blend into your family and watch your back no matter what. Dogs are that special species whom you can trust without a smidgen of doubt. This heart-melting video is making the rounds for all the right reasons and the well-known adage “Dogs are man’s best friend” is only befitting in this case.
With this video, you may feel a lot more assured to have your pet dogs around your baby. Do you agree?
